Our gyms are due for an upgrade, and we want to make sure they match up with the best in town and keep up with the latest fitness trends so you can enjoy a great workout experience.

In addition to the gym upgrade, we’re investing substantially over the next five years to make our buildings more efficient, resilient and be more eco-friendly. Since we took over facility management in June 2023, we’ve invested in heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and other systems to keep everything running.
We know our buildings need more attention, so we’re planning the below improvements this year:

Refurbishment update
Unfortunately the date for refurbishment has been delayed by a few months due to the complexity of the project and the governance we must follow.
We appreciate everyone is keen for the completion of the project and believe it will be worth the wait. Our team is currently aligning the construction and re-decoration schedule with the delivery of the new equipment. We don’t have a confirmed start date yet but as soon as we do, we will share this with you. Please see below the latest updates and progress:
Gym design and layouts
Last week, we received the new gym designs, and I’m sure you’ll agree they look fabulous! Please see below designs for the Castle Leisure Centre as an example of what the new gyms wills look like. Individual centre plans and floor layouts are on display in the centres.
Introducing our new fitness kit
We’ve partnered with leading vendors Pulse Fitness, Indigo, and Box12 to bring you the best in fitness technology. Get ready to experience cutting-edge equipment that will take your workouts to the next level.
New member area
You asked for more support in the customer survey, and we listened! As part of our new gym design, we’ve created a dedicated member area where you can receive advice, health and fitness checks, and personalised fitness programming. We’re committed to providing the extra support you need to achieve your fitness goals.
New Tanita body composition analysis
To help you track your progress and understand your body composition all new centres will be getting a Tanita body composition analysis scale. In just a few minutes you can find out what your body is made of. Tanita will break down what percentage of you is lean muscle, body fat, water, bone mass and more. This way you can have a more accurate way of checking your health and progress in more detail.
